High Integration and Small Dimension
The transportation cost of outdoor installation is very high. If the UPS for security cameras is too large and heavy, then cranes and other tools will be used for installation. You can imagine how much the installation cost will increase. Therefore, Edgeware’s design concept has always been to be as highly integrated and miniaturized as possible. All in One. The optimized design of Edge Equation Lite U300 makes it possible to replace the FAN without turning off the power system or removing the device from the pole or wall to implement hotswap. This simplifies maintenance and avoids network interruption.
Surge Protection
Another major challenge in the outdoor environment is surge protection. UPS for security camera requires a comprehensive design and consideration of the lightning protection and grounding of the entire system. For power input and power output, lightning protection of 20Ka level or above is required. For other signal interfaces, such as Ethernet port and signal port, lightning protection is also required. This allows the entire system to work stably and long-term outdoors.
Enhanced Security

High Efficiency FAN Control Algorithm
Outdoor Cabinet of UPS for security cameras is based on FAN heat dissipation. We hope to extend the life of the fan as much as possible while ensuring the heat dissipation effect of the whole machine, so we designed a cooling algorithm for this scenario. At the same time, we designed a FAN opening and closing algorithm based on dehumidification for scenarios in high humidity environments.
High Temperature Resistant Long Life Battery
The most vulnerable and core component of the UPS for security cameras outdoor cabinet is the battery. The battery must be resistant to high temperatures and have a long life. Lithium batteries usually meet these characteristics. Lead-acid batteries are not suitable for outdoor high-temperature environments.
POE+/POE++
The best power supply for CCTV cameras is POE, which fully guarantees the reliability of the system and reduces the complexity of the entire network. Outdoor UPS for security cameras must include POE+ (802.3at) and POE++ (802.3bt) functions, so that a single system can power the entire CCTV camera system. High-definition cameras and those with advanced features such as PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) may demand higher power, making POE++ (802.3bt) an essential feature.
Remote Monitoring and Management

The Edge Equation Lite U300 outdoor cabinet of UPS for security cameras is a product developed by Edgeware based on the all-in-one design concept. Each functional unit of the product is independent and slot-based. All slots are connected to the backplane, thus avoiding the complex wiring inside the general outdoor power system and the high difficulty of site integration. The equipment mainly has the following units:
PWU Slot
The PWU Slot contains a 300W DC-UPS and Surge Protection Control Board. It becomes the power supply of the entire system and has strong outdoor lightning protection capabilities.
MCU Slot
The MCU Slot has a control board and a programmable control unit for the entire system. It mainly collects control and monitoring information of key components of the whole machine and reports to the software platform. Customized control logic can also be implemented, and we can develop customized development for customers case by case.
SPP Slot
The SPP Slot is a power distribution unit that distributes DC48V, DC24V, and DC12V to customer devices in each slot.
BTU Slot The BTU Slot contains a lithium battery, providing backup power for the entire system. INV Slot INV Slot features 4 AC Outputs, providing AC power supply to the load, this slot typically will not provide, only customer by request.

All functional slots are connected to a highly integrated Backplane PCB, which simplifies the chaotic cable interconnection inside the traditional outdoor UPS cabinet. Each functional slot can be pulled out and replaced separately, making on-site maintenance and repair easier.

Edge Equation Lite U300 is not only a UPS of security cameras. It has a built-in Edge Control unit in MCU slot to monitor and manage the operation of the entire system. It is synchronized to the software platform to achieve both Edge and Cloud visualization and synchronization. In this way, management and monitoring can be achieved locally at the site and on the cloud software platform. Especially when the site loses connection from cloud software, the site can still continue to operate based on the management and judgment of the Edge Control unit without relying on the calculation and management of the software platform.
