ST-EC8000M is an Outdoor Telecom Cabinet Management Unit for outdoor telecom cabinet system monitoring. It is designed to be installed in a 19-inch rack of a telecom cabinet. The system has a rich range of interfaces and functions, such as sensor interfaces, cabinet lock, GPS, 4G/5G, POE, etc. In response to the needs of outdoor telecom cabinet scenarios, ST-EC8000M has a built-in programmable software core to customize the system control logic to accurately match the customer's scenario requirements. The system also has built-in air conditioning and power system scheduling algorithms to enhance customer management of the site. ST-EC8000M reports the status of the entire site to the Edgeware Convergence Software Platform for synchronization and control.

Telecom Cabinet Sensor Monitoring
ST-EC8000M Outdoor Telecom Cabinet Management Unit can integrate 2*door sensor, 1*smoke sensor, 1*leakage sensor, 1*SPD, 2*digital Input. And built-in 1+1 temperature sensor and humidity sensor, they work in 1+1 backup working state.
Real Time GPS
The system has a built-in GPS module that can update the location of outdoor telecom cabinet sites in real time to facilitate OAM team management and scheduling of maintenance work。
Air Conditioner Control
ST-EC8000M can monitor and control the mainstream cabinet air conditioner. It collects the key operating status of the air conditioner and reports it to the management software platform. It also cooperates with the software platform to remotely control the air conditioner and manage the power and cooling scheduling algorithm.
4G/5G Backhaul
ST-EC8000M can choose to have built-in 4G or 5G modules, so that ST-EC8000M has an independent uplink network installed inside the telecom cabinet, increasing the reliability of site management and backhaul.
Power and Solar Management
Edgeware full series rectifier and solar system can be monitored and managed by ST-EC8000M, thus achieving unified management of power system status and outdoor telecom cabinet.
3 Ports For POE+
ST-EC8000M provides three POE+ ports to help customers deploy CCTV cameras in scenarios that require enhanced security. It can also support customers to deploy other POE devices to build a complete scenario.
Battery Management
Edgeware’s full range of lithium batteries can be managed by ST-EC8000M. For lead-acid batteries, AGM batteries and other scenarios without BMS systems, ST-EC8000M can detect the temperature of the battery by deploying temperature sensors in the battery compartment.
Maintenance WIFI
The system provides maintenance WIFI, which customers can set to broadcast SSID or hide SSID. With WIFI, in many scenarios where only site configuration is required, the OAM team can complete maintenance work without opening the cabinet door.
Enhanced Cabinet Door Security
ST-EC8000M has built-in 4-way remote door lock control to match the front and rear door locks of ST2100 and ST2102 outdoor telecom cabinets. This allows remote control via the software management platform, thereby enhancing the security of the outdoor telecom cabinet.
Third Party Devices SNMP Integration
ST-EC8000M has a built-in programmable engine that can realize third-party SNMP management integration, thereby converting the SNMP management information of various network devices into MQTT format and reporting it to the Edgeware software platform.
Thingsboard Supported
ST-EC8000M Outdoor Telecom Cabinet Management Unit fully supports the thingsboard software platform. The Edgeware development team also has extensive thingsboard development experience and can help customers customize and implement the functions they need.

Edgeware Convergence Software Platform
Convergence Software Platform is a configuration management platform developed by Edgeware specifically for the monitoring and management of outdoor edge power solutions. The software platform can standardize the management of all Edgeware products. The software platform is optimized based on the characteristics of outdoor telecom cabinets. First, the low-overhead MQTT protocol is used for flexible north-south communication. In addition to basic functions such as monitoring, configuration, permissions, alarms, and statistics, the most important thing about the Convergence software platform is that its basic data processing and judgment logic and dashboard implementation are all configured and customized based on project scenarios case by case. Based on the configurable software logic and rule engine characteristics of the Convergence software platform, Edgeware can quickly achieve final delivery of each project in a low-code form, thereby matching customer needs to the greatest extent.
Edge Control of Outdoor Telecom Cabinet
The edge control of telecom cabinet is realized based on the ST-EC8000M Outdoor Telecom Cabinet Management Unit. ST-EC8000M has a built-in programmable software core including Edgeware drivers for solar, power, battery, network, security, cooling, sensors, and a power and cooling system algorithm. Therefore, the telecom cabinet site can independently calculate and control all its own sub-devices as an edge computing site, and even if it loses contact with the software platform, it will not affect all its functions. In addition, based on the programmable software core, some in-depth control logic and algorithms can be easily implemented, such as automatically calculating the cooling power according to the load power to turn on the air conditioner. The edge control unit in telecom cabinet realizes operation and edge synchronization through MQTT and the Convergence software platform.
Enhanced Security
Telecom cabinets are deployed outdoors, and their security issues have always been a major pain point for operators. This problem is particularly serious in some underdeveloped areas. When telecom cabinets are illegally stolen, the biggest problem is not only the loss of equipment, but more importantly, the impact on the operation of the entire network. For example, some sites are core routing or core DWDM sites, and their offline will affect more than just a few customers. Therefore, how to better provide a more complete security solution for telecom cabinets has always been the direction of Edgeware’s efforts.
POE Ports for CCTV Camera
ST-EC8000M has 3 POE+ 802.3at ports, which is convenient for deploying 3-way CCTV Cameras to protect telecom cabinet sites. Customers do not need to add additional POE switches and other equipment.
Motion Sensor Integrated
Motion sensors can be deployed around telecom cabinets to detect various intrusion events. ST-EC8000M has a maximum of 4 built-in motion sensor interfaces, which can facilitate customers to deploy cabinet defense system.
Vibration Sensor to Detect Abnormal
ST-EC8000M has developed and integrated a vibration sensor interface. This accessory can be added according to customer requirements. In this way, when the telecom cabinet is stolen or damaged, abnormal vibration of the cabinet can be detected in time and reported to the software platform.
Remote Control Door Lock
The system design allows two remote control locks to be deployed at the front door and back door of the telecom cabinet. These locks are hidden and cannot be touched or seen from outside the cabinet. The locks can only be opened on the Convergence software platform. This makes the door opening action traceable. It also makes it difficult for thieves to open the cabinet door.
Power Occupation Management
To address the power and cooling management issues in telecom cabinets, Edgeware introduced automated power and cooling capacity management and occupation methods for data centers, and embedded power and cooling scheduling algorithms in the ST-EC8000M Outdoor Telecom Cabinet Management Unit and Convergence software platform to achieve orderly management.
Power Automatic Calculation
The system’s maximum power and remaining available power are all automatically calculated by the system algorithm, thus avoiding the various problems that arise during the information transmission process when the OAM team manually records them.
Power Occupation Process
When a site needs to expand capacity, the OAM team needs to apply for the required power in the Edgeware Convergence software platform. The system automatically calculates whether the left power budget is sufficient and gives the result. If the occupation process fails, capacity cannot be expanded. It is necessary to re-examine whether the site needs to expand the power system capacity.
Power History Statistics
The software server can be configured to store historical power budget and power occupation data for up to ten years. This allows customers to better analyze power usage, power expansion, and analyze more effective ways to expand power in the future.
Node-Red Application and Scenarios Developed by Edgeware
Enhanced cooling management is to automate the management of air conditioners to the greatest extent possible, integrating all air conditioner capacities of the entire machine into a resource pool. According to the current power of the telecom cabinet site, the required cooling capacity is automatically calculated. When the algorithm finds that the cooling capacity required by the power calculation of the currently running equipment has exceeded the capacity of the currently running air conditioner, other air conditioners are turned on to increase the overall cooling capacity of the system.
In addition, the algorithm also manages the N+1 backup of the air conditioner. The conditions for turning on the backup air conditioner can be set, such as: the temperature inside the cabinet exceeds the preset temperature, the running air conditioner is disconnected or damaged, etc.
Cooling Capacity Calculation
The system will synchronize the power management data to know the current max power, power occupation and other information of the entire system, and automatically calculate the required cooling capacity.
Only Turn On Necessary Air Conditioner
When building a site, the maximum load power of the entire system is estimated and the air conditioners are configured accordingly. However, the system algorithm does not turn on all air conditioners, but only turns on the required air conditioners according to the cooling capacity calculation result based on the current load power, thereby greatly saving site OPEX.
N+1 Backup
When configuring the system, one air conditioner can be configured as a backup air conditioner, thereby performing N+1 backup for other air conditioners. The system can be set to start the backup air conditioner under certain conditions: the temperature inside the cabinet exceeds the upper limit, the main working air conditioner is offline, or the main working air conditioner fails. The backup air conditioner can also cancel the backup and become a main working air conditioner to increase the maximum cooling capacity of the entire system.
Cooling History Statistics
The Convergence software platform records the cooling capacity in detail and forms a historical chart, so that the OAM team can trace and manage historical data more effectively, thereby better managing site expansion and the configuration of new sites.
