Edge Chain Series high temperature UPS is a UPS system designed for CCTV cabinet applications in very hot areas such as Central and Eastern Africa and the Caribbean. Edge Chain has an industrial-grade 300W DC UPS system inside which can work under natural heat dissipation rather than fan heat dissipation, which makes the system no longer dependent on fans, thereby improving the reliability of the entire system and achieving maintenance-free as much as possible. At the same time, because the 300W DCUPS system uses DC48V voltage, and the 802.3bt POE++ scenario requires a DC52-57V voltage. Therefore, the system is equipped with a 300W DC55V voltage-stabilized output module. The system also provides 40W DC12V and DC24V voltage for low-voltage devices such as routers,IoT devices. Edge Chain Series CCTV UPS has a built-in LiFePO4 high-temperature lithium battery, the default is 48V5Ah (240Wh) for 150W load to work for 1 hour 30 minutes. Also can expand the battery capacity to 48V10Ah (480Wh) or higher capacity.

High Temperature Working Range
The Edge Chain U300 high-temperature UPS features a wide operating range. It can operate in temperatures as high as 65°C and as low as -30°C. This allows it to operate stably in extreme environments, even with CCTV camera systems.

Enclosure with Rugged Design
Considering the complex working environment of the extreme temperature UPS system, the entire system adopts a rugged design and is mainly made of aluminum.

Completely Rust-proof
The Edge Chain U300 high-temperature UPS is designed for deployment within CCTV cabinets. Many CCTV cabinets feature simple designs and IP55-level ingress protection. This exposes the equipment within the cabinet to potential exposure to ambient air. In hot and humid environments, system rusting poses a significant challenge. The Edge Chain U300 high-temperature UPS, with its fully aluminum housing, eliminates this risk.

Surge Protection
The Edge Chain U300 high-temperature UPS is designed for deployment within CCTV cabinets. Often, poor surge protection in CCTV cabinets can negatively impact the UPS system. Therefore, the Edge Chain U300’s AC input features 20kA surge protection, protecting it from lightning.

All Components Natural Heat Dissipation
The system relies on its own cast aluminum shell to dissipate heat naturally, without mechanical heat dissipation parts such as fans, thus ensuring that the system can better achieve maintenance-free and reliable operation outdoors.

High Temperature Resistant Long Life Battery
Lithium battery is embedded in the system. The lithium battery is designed for the environment of outdoor with high temperature tolerance. In order to better remotely manage the battery status, it has a built-in BMS (Battery Management System), which can effectively monitor the battery voltage, current, capacity, temperature, protection status, cycles, battery cell voltage balance and other key parameters, so that the OAM team can know the battery status on the central software platform.

Edge Chain U300 high temperature UPS has built-in an industrial level UPS designed for high temperature environments. Its small-scale design based on natural heat dissipation can make the entire system small and easy to deploy. The UPS and battery are fully monitored and managed by the software system. In Box Environment Monitoring

Some high-power CCTV cameras require 802.3bt POE++ switches, which require an input DC voltage range of DC52-57V. The Edge Chain U300 takes this into account and provides a DC55V output with a maximum constant voltage of 200W.

The hot climate of West Africa and some desert regions cause typical CCTV UPS deployments to fail within one to two years. The Edge Chain U300 is optimized for deployment in these areas.
The Middle East region has an extremely hot climate, with ambient temperatures often reaching 55°C or higher. If a UPS system were placed in an outdoor cabinet according to conventional design methods, the internal temperature would reach 55°C or higher. However, typical UPS systems are designed for an operating temperature range of 0-40°C, making them incapable of long-term stable operation in the Middle East. The Edge Chain U300 is designed for this scenario.
Equatorial humid regions, such as the Caribbean, can experience high temperatures and humidity. CCTV systems typically use IP55 outdoor cabinets with fan cooling. This allows high-humidity air to enter the cabinets, potentially corroding the UPS system. The Edge Chain U300, however, takes these factors into consideration with an all-aluminum design, ensuring high temperature resistance while also preventing corrosion caused by high humidity.
The Edge Chain U300 is optimized not only for high temperatures but also for low temperatures, enabling the system to operate in -30°C environments. The system’s heating algorithm has also been optimized to ensure the battery remains within an ideal temperature range during low-temperature operation without compromising battery capacity.

Comprehensive Electricity Protection

Edge Chain U300 High Temp UPS is designed with perfect electricity protection for outdoor application . First of all, the lightning protection system is designed with a built-in 20KA level lightning surge suppressor, which not only protects the entire system in outdoor lightning protection, but also simplifies customer installation. In addition, the AC input is designed with under-voltage, over-voltage, over-current protection, and will detect the online status of the power grid, AC input voltage, current, power and other parameters. For UPS output, it is designed with under-voltage, over-voltage, over-current, short circuit, over temperature protection. This makes the entire system reliable and stable when running outdoors.
Remote Reset UPS to Reset All Load

The UPS system in Edge Chain can be remotely restarted through SNMP or MQTT. When the restart command is executed, the UPS system in will restart for 5 seconds, thereby cutting off the load power supply for 5 seconds and then restoring it. This can achieve the purpose of restarting all the downstream load devices to help solve the restart and debugging of various types of customer equipment. Thus can reset all system in CCTV cabinet to slove some system freeze problem .
Environment Management

The Edge Chain deployment environment is relatively harsh, so the system has built-in temperature and humidity sensors to monitor changes in cabinet temperature and humidity in the deployment area.
UPS State Monitoring

The UPS module in Edge Chain is monitored and managed in real time. This information can report to customer software platform by SNMP. This includes various parameters such as voltage, current, UPS core temperature, PFC voltage, power, abnormal status, etc. This makes it convenient for the operation and maintenance team to manage the operation of the site. When a problem occurs, the UPS status history can also be used to determine the problem.
Battery Management System

The lithium battery in the Edge Chain is embedded with a BMS module that monitors the battery voltage, current, capacity, voltage balance between cells, number of cycles, and other information. In addition, the battery itself is equipped with two upper and lower temperature probes to monitor the actual operating temperature of the battery in the hot climate of the Middle East. All this information will be reported to the customer software platform via SNMP for remote monitoring.
