The Edge Span S60-5GPS is an all-in-one smart node designed specifically for security camera solar power supply and IoT solar power scenarios. In many smart city scenarios, security cameras and IoT sensors are deployed simultaneously. These sensors have different interface, protocol, and power requirements. The Edge Span S60-5GPS is designed as an all-in-one device specifically for IoT and security camera solar power supply scenarios. Taking into account the load type of the deployment environment, the entire system is designed to IP65 ingress protection level. The entire system uses the all in one design principle to embed solar controller, lithium battery, PoE router, and 4G/5G router into the system, IoT edge control thereby avoiding customers from connecting and building the system on site to achieve one-stop delivery. For scenarios without 4G/5G network coverage, customers can also choose not to configure 4G/5G modules and choose to use wireless P2P/P2MP technology to build a backhaul network. The uplink interface of Edge Span can support POE, so that customers can use the uplink interface to connect wireless P2P/P2MP antenna and provide POE power supply. The entire system can provide PoE/PoE+ power supply for up to three CCTV cameras, POE++ 802.3bt module can also be configured.For IoT sensor provides industrial level signal port which integrates 12V or 24V power supply and modbus protocol. Other protocol types can also be added according to customer requirements to simplify customer's IoT sensor integration.

Solar Power and Battery Backup
The Edge Span S60-5GPS security camera solar power supply integrates an industrial-grade 600W MPPT solar controller designed for low-power applications in security cameras and IoT. Its design prioritizes natural heat dissipation and high-temperature resistance, making it highly suitable for outdoor deployments. Furthermore, its integrated, high-temperature-resistant, 2640Wh lithium battery provides 48-72 hours of system autonomy in typical scenarios. The solar controller and battery feature detailed management capabilities, which can be managed via Edgeware software or reported to the customer’s management platform via SNMP/MQTT.

Pre-Integration for Plug and Play
Outdoor installation of security camera solar power supplies and IoT solar power systems is complex. Designing and installing them using a typical large outdoor cabinet can be costly. IoT solar power systems, in particular, consume relatively little power, and an overly large installation can make the entire project ineffective. The Edge Span S60-5PGS features a highly integrated design and plug-and-play installation, greatly facilitating installation and deployment.

Programmable Edge Computing and Control Core
Edge Span S60-5GPS is equipped with an edge computing control core to meet the needs of outdoor CCTV scenario. It can collect IoT sensors and control and collect data from the Edge Span system itself according to the scenarios that customers need to implement. It also realizes data synchronization and computing collaboration between the cloud and the edge.

4G/5G Backhaul Capability
Edge Span S60-5GPS security camera solar power supply can be used as a 4G/5G industrial router. We can configure different modules according to customer needs to match the wireless frequency bands required by customers. In addition, according to the actual bandwidth requirements of customers, the 4G module can be configured with CAT1, CAT4, CAT6, CAT12, etc. The wireless module can be used as the primary and backup for the uplink port of the device.

IP65/NEMA4X
The deployment scenario of Edge Span S60-5GP is based on outdoor CCTV scenario. The deployment environment is generally harsh and on-site maintenance is difficult. The entire Edge Span S60-5GPS security camera solar power supply and IoT solar power is built in a cast aluminum housing. The signal interface has a 6kV level lightning protection, while the power interface has a 20Ka level lightning protection.

Complete POE+/POE++ Function
The typical configuration of Edge Span S60-5GPS provides 3 802.3at (POE+) interfaces so that customers can power various WIFI APs, CCTV cameras and other devices at outdoor sites. For some special scenarios, 802.3bt (POE++) interfaces can be provided according to customer needs. We will recalculate the power budget of the entire solar battery enclosure based on the customer’s power so as to determine the final configuration plan with the customer.

Remote Monitoring and Management
When a site is working outdoors and is also a solar power based site, there are many things that the operation and maintenance personnel need to pay attention to. For example, the site is overcast and rainy for many days, causing the solar cells to run out, or the core equipment of the site is faulty. Edgeware provides a complete remote monitoring and management solution, allowing customers to know the overall operation and statistics of the site at the NOC.

IoT Sensor Integration
The Edge Span S60-5GPS IoT solar power system can be used as an IoT solution. We can help customers select and integrate their desired IoT sensors, as well as third-party IoT sensors of their choice. After integration, we perform the corresponding integration and calculations at the edge and report to the Edgeware software platform or the customer’s third-party software platform.

Remote Monitoring and Management

Solar Power Based 4G/5G Backhaul Scenario

- 4G/5G Backhaul Solar Scenario
Edge Span S60-5GP security camera solar power supply can be based on 4G/5G backhaul. At this time, we will configure 4G/5G wireless module in the system to ensure that the traffic of CCTV camera can be wirelessly returned to NVR and software server in HQ
- Wired Network Backhaul Solar Scenario
This scenario is when you have a wired network for backhaul, such as optical fiber or Ethernet port, and you can use Edge Span S60-5GP as the core of backhaul and power.

- Wireless Relay Node
In the solar power supply for CCTV camera scenario, the backhaul is more likely to be based on Wireless P2P/P2MP devices. In this scenario, some sites are located in remote areas and need to be extended through Wireless P2P/P2MP relay stations.
- Wireless Access Node
The wireless access node of the security camera solar power supply is responsible for transmitting the CCTV camera video stream back to the entire network. In many scenarios, the video stream is also transmitted back through wireless P2P/P2MP.
Based on the above two scenarios, Edge Span S60-5GP does not need to be configured with a 4G/5G wireless module, and only needs to use the basic functions of the built-in POE Router. The topology is as follows:

The Edge Span S60-5GPS easily builds a solution for IoT solar power scenarios, as shown in the figure above. Solar power powers the entire system, while also providing common DC12V and DC24V power to IoT sensors. It also integrates interfaces such as RS485, DI, and DO, as required by IoT sensors.

5G and WAN Port Backup Each Other

Edge Span S60-5GPS is designed with the reliability of the overall network backhaul of the system in mind. It can set up a master-slave connection between 4G/5G and Fiber WAN. When the master link is down, the slave link swaps as the main link. When the master link is back, the traffic goes back to the main link.
