Node-Red Router with POE-EX900 Series

OPEN-WRT Industrial Router with Node-red,POE,GPS,4G/5G

What is 4G/5G Node-Red Router?

Node-Red router EX900 is an industrial router developed by Edgeware based on edge computing and edge control scenarios. EX900 is an industrial router based on OPEN-WRT architecture, which has built-in the latest Node-Red programmable open source software to better match the changing needs and scenarios of edge control and edge computing through programmable capabilities. All core components of EX900 are designed to industrial standards, greatly enhancing the reliability of the system, and its operating temperature range reaches -20℃-70℃, which is enough to cope with harsh deployment environments.
EX900 is also optimized for deployment scenarios such as CCTV camera and WIFI AP, adding 3 POE+/802.3at interfaces, and the whole machine can provide a maximum of 90W POE power. And these POE ports can be controlled by Node-red to realize various programmable POE restart, POE shutdown and power on functions.
The system can configure 4G or 5G wireless module according to the wireless frequency band of the customer's country. 4G can choose different wireless modules such as CAT1, CAT4, CAT6, CAT12, etc.
Unlike the general Node-Red control gateway that only supports very limited communication protocols, EX900 is an industrial router based on OPEN-WRT architecture with complete communication protocols, such as: Isis, OSPF, various VPNs such as IPSEC VPN, SNMP, etc. Please refer to the specification sheet for details.
In view of the reliability of the system, EX900 also designed the mutual master-slave of WAN port uplink and Wireless uplink, so that customers can deploy some scenarios that enhance system reliability. For example, set the WAN port as main uplink and 4G as backup link. Then realize the master-slave switching.
EX900 has 2 RS485, 1 RS232, 1 Digital out, and 1 Digital in, so as to achieve richer industrial control and external sensor control capabilities.

Features of Node-Red Router EX900

Node-Red Ready

Lastest Node-Red is embedded, and the required nodes can be pre-set in the factory settings according to customer needs for easy use. Edgeware can also customize the program in the Node-Red according to customer scenario needs.

OPEN-WRT

Mature OPEN-WRT architecture for the 4G/5G router function. With mature wireless functions that has been used by Edgeware outdoor scenarios.

Complete Protocol for Industrial Router

EX900 is different from traditional node-red smart gateways. It is designed based on the industrial router architecture. Traditional node-red gateways do not support a complete range of communication protocols, while EX900 supports a full range of protocols. For example, it can support ISIS and OSPF as a Layer 3 access router node.

SNMP Mibs of EX900 router can be synchronized to Node-red.

Router Ports State can be synchronized to Node-red.

Complete VPN Protocols Supported

Supports mainstream VPN technologies to facilitate customers to establish VPN tunnels to the central office using the EX900 Node-red router as the edge node, which not only protects data security, but also facilitates planning of the entire network private address in the 4G/5G wireless backhaul scenario. EX900 supports OPEN-VPN, IPSEC VPN, GRE, PPTP, and L2TP VPN technologies.

POE+ Functions

When developing the EX900 Node-red router, we considered the deployment scenarios of CCTV cameras, WIFI APs and other POE devices in the edge network. Therefore, 3 POE+ 802.3at interfaces are designed in the system. This makes it easy to connect POE-powered devices such as cameras and WIFI APs to build a complete solution using EX900 as the control core. Maximum POE power consumption of the whole system: 90W.

The POE port can be controlled by Node-red.

Industrial and Control Interface

EX900 supports 2 RS485, 1 RS232, 1 DI, and 1 DO. Modbus can be run on RS485. Therefore, customers can build their edge control site with EX900 as the core to control devices such as battery BMS, solar controller, CCTV UPS, etc.

RS485,RS232 is one usable node in Node-Red, can be controlled and programmed.

4G/5G Backhaul Capability

EX900 can configure different modules according to customer needs to match the wireless frequency bands required by customers. In addition, according to the actual bandwidth requirements of customers, the 4G module can be configured with CAT1, CAT4, CAT6, CAT12, etc. The wireless module can be used as the primary and backup for the uplink port of the device.

4G/5G link state and wireless module state can be managed by Node-red

WIFI Supported

EX900 has 802.11n WIFI function. It can provide certain WIFI access for users in edge network scenarios. It can also facilitate engineers to access WIFI for configuration and maintenance.

GPS Supported

EX900 Node-red Router supports GPS function. It also has GPS tracking function, which can report coordinates, heading, speed, altitude and other information. It can be deployed in scenarios where tracking is required. It can also be used only for site location information.

GPS information can be managed by Node-red.

SNMP Supported

SNMP is a common protocol used by large enterprises, governments, and telecom operators. General node-red gateways usually lack SNMP protocol, but EX900 has a built-in complete SNMP protocol, which can be easily managed by the customer’s SNMP OSS in large projects, such as Zabbix, Solar Wind, etc.

Thingsboard Supported

EX900 fully supports the thingsboard software platform. The Edgeware development team also has extensive thingsboard development experience and can help customers customize and implement the functions they need.

PRTG Supported

EX900 also supports reporting device monitoring and management information to the PRTG software platform.
