Edge Span S60-5GP is an all-in-one solar battery enclosure that integrates 5G router, WIFI, POE, Solar Power, Battery, edge computing and control functions. The system is mainly designed for a variety of scenarios such as video surveillance, outdoor WIFI, remote site coverage, energy network control, industrial network control, smart city, environmental detection, smart agriculture, etc. In conjunction with Edgeware or the customer's third-party IoT sensor, a more comprehensive one-stop solution can be achieved. Edge Span S60-5GP solar battery enclosure has a built-in Node-red programmable core, and Edgeware can implement the control, monitoring and management functions required by the customer according to the customer's scenario. It can also be delivered to the customer as a white box, and the customer can develop the corresponding scenario by themselves. The system is generally equipped with 3 802.3at (POE+) interfaces. Interfaces such as modbus, DC12V/DC48V, DI, DO interfaces which can be configured according to the customer's scenario requirements.

Designed for Outodor IoT
Edge Span S60-5GP solar battery enclosure is designed for outdoor access scenarios of IoT. The programmable core based on Node-red can easily access various IoT sensors. Through Thingsboard, the software end is configured to realize scenario-based deployment quickly. 5G backhaul makes the deployment of IoT no longer limited by the distribution of wired networks and optical fibers.
Rich Interface for Outdoor Scenario
Edge Span U60-5GP solar battery enclosure covers most interfaces for outdoor use and can provide a one-stop solution for outdoor IoT deployment. Use RS485 to connect to other devices via modbus, and for example, configure Di DO to control some relay devices. At the same time, Edge Span itself can provide various types of power for external devices according to the scenario.
Solar Power and Battery Backup
Edge Span S60 has built-in an industrial level MPPT solar controller designed for outdoor high temperature environments. Its small-scale design based on natural heat dissipation can make the entire system small and easy to deploy. At the same time, it has a built-in 2640Wh lithium battery which can generally provide Edge Span 48 hours work for the CCTV camera system when the weather has no solar. The solar controller and battery are fully monitored and managed by the software system.

It also realizes data synchronization and computing collaboration between the cloud and the edge.
4G/5G Backhaul Capability
Edge Span S60-5GP solar battery enclosure can be used as a 4G/5G industrial router. We can configure different modules according to customer needs to match the wireless frequency bands required by customers. In addition, according to the actual bandwidth requirements of customers, the 4G module can be configured with CAT1, CAT4, CAT6, CAT12, etc. The wireless module can be used as the primary and backup for the uplink port of the device.
IP65/NEMA4X
The deployment scenario of Edge Span S60-5GP is based on edge IoT access. The deployment environment is generally harsh and on-site maintenance is difficult. Therefore, we designed the entire system to have an IP65/NEMA 4X protection level, thereby achieving long-term maintenance-free and greatly saving on-site maintenance costs.

No Rust for Long Term Operation
The entire Edge Span S60-5GP system is built in a cast aluminum housing. Due to the advantages of the cast aluminum housing itself, the entire system is rust-proof. It is particularly suitable for deployment in extreme areas, such as forests, seaside, and high humidity areas.
Surge Protection
Another major challenge in the outdoor environment is surge protection. To address this challenge, the Edge Span S60-5G has a complete grounding design. At the same time, a complete lightning protection system is designed for all device interfaces. The signal interface has a 6kV level lightning protection, while the power interface has a 20Ka level lightning protection.
Complete POE+/POE++ Function
The typical configuration of Edge Span S60-5GP provides 3 802.3at (POE+) interfaces so that customers can power various WIFI APs, CCTV cameras and other devices at outdoor sites. For some special scenarios, 802.3bt (POE++) interfaces can be provided according to customer needs. We will recalculate the power budget of the entire solar battery enclosure based on the customer’s power so as to determine the final configuration plan with the customer.
Remote Monitoring and Management
When a site is working outdoors and is also a solar power based site, there are many things that the operation and maintenance personnel need to pay attention to. For example, the site is overcast and rainy for many days, causing the solar cells to run out, or the core equipment of the site is faulty. Edgeware provides a complete remote monitoring and management solution, allowing customers to know the overall operation and statistics of the site at the NOC.

Solar Power Generation and Usage Statistics
Edge Span S60-5GP has a built-in solar power statistics function, which can record the solar energy generation and usage data every hour, day, week, and year on the software platform and the local UI of the device. This allows customers to have a more detailed understanding of the site’s operation and becomes the data basis for expansion and future site construction.
Time-Scheduled Load On/Off
Edge Span S60-5GP can schedule the opening and closing of different POE ports based on time. For example, the WIFI AP and some unimportant sensors can be turned off at night to save battery power at night. This ensures that important devices can have longer system autonomy time.
Conditional Load On/Off
Edge Span S60-5GP can turn on and off different loads according to preset conditions. For example, when the remaining battery capacity is 40%, non-important loads are turned off, leaving only important loads running. This ensures that the ultimate function of the entire system can extend its battery operation time as much as possible without solar energy.
Solar Controller State Monitoring
When the solar battery enclosure is deployed outdoors, controlling the operating status of the solar controller is very helpful for the operation and maintenance of the entire network. Problems can be diagnosed remotely so that on-site repair and maintenance can be completed faster and better when needed. Edge Span’s built-in solar controller can be remotely monitored and managed by Edgeware’s Convergence software platform, allowing users to easily implement remote operation and maintenance.
Battery Management System
The life and operation of the battery are also very important for the operation of edge site system, especially when there are a large number of sites and power outages are very frequent. After 5-10 years of site deployment, it is inevitable that some batteries will need to be replaced because they have exceeded the usage limit. The built-in BMS of Edge Span S60 can provide you with various information such as battery voltage, current, power, power, number of cycles, single cell voltage, cell voltage balance, etc. to help you understand its operation status through our software platform at the maintenance center.
IoT Sensor Edge Control and Computing
Edge Span S60-5GP can be designed for the integration of IoT sensors and devices. Edgeware has a complete portfolio of IoT devices for customers to choose from. Third-party IoT devices of customers can also be customized and integrated based on the programmable edge computing capabilities of Edge Span S60-5GP. Thus, a one-stop landing of sensors, edge sites, and software is formed.
5G and WAN Port Backup Each Other
Edge Span S60-5GP is designed with the reliability of the overall network backhaul of the system in mind. It can set up a master-slave connection between 4G/5G and Fiber WAN. When the master link is down, the slave link swaps as the main link. When the master link is back, the traffic goes back to the main link.
Main Steam VPN Supported for Enhanced Security
Edge Span S60-5GP supports mainstream VPN technologies, greatly simplifying IP planning during network deployment. At the same time, it also greatly increases the security of site data for sites with high data security requirements.
Envrionment Management
The deployment environment of solar for Edge Span is relatively complex, so Edge Span has built-in temperature and humidity sensors that can synchronize real-time conditions to the software platform.
POE Switch Management and Control
The POE port of Edge Span S60-5GP can be remotely monitored by software for real-time POE power consumption and current. At the same time, for video surveillance scenarios, in many cases when CCTV camera is stuck, you can restart the camera by restarting the corresponding POE port of Edge Span through software.
Third Party Software Platform Integration
Although Edgeware has its own software platform, customers often have their own considerations for the management of the entire network and have their own management system or OSS. A. When the battery capacity is less than 40%, close several specific POE ports to put the whole machine into power saving mode.
