UPS CCTV power supply Edge Span U60EL LSP-8 is an enlarged version of Edgeware U60. It is mainly used for some special scenarios as a 48V POE UPS as followings:
(1) In addition to CCTV cameras, UPS backup power supply is also required for other high-power loads on the site.
(2) For some scenarios where the load power is not large, but fast charging is required, such as in some underdeveloped countries, where the power grid is online for only a few hours a day and the power grid is offline at other times, the battery needs to be fully charged as soon as possible during these hours. In this way, during the rest of the day when the power grid is offline, the load can work through the UPS battery until the next time the power grid is online again.
Based on the above scenario description, Edge Span U60EL LSP-8 expands the battery to 48V20AH (960Wh), and the rated power of the UPS is 1000W. This matches high-power scenarios and fast charging scenarios.
The configured layer 2 POE switch has 8 1000Base-T ports, of which 2 support 802.3bt 110W and 6 support 802.3at 30W.
Edge Span U60EL LSP-8 is an outdoor UPS with customized design as its goal. The enclosure of the device is larger than that of the Edge Span U60 standard series, leaving room for customized design. Ingress Protection with IP65/NEMA4X
Edge Span U60EL is designed for use in developing countries and underdeveloped areas. Imagine areas with unstable power grids and complex surrounding environments. To meet the complex challenges in these areas, IP 65-level ingress protection not only solves the waterproofing problem but also isolates the device from the outside environment.
Rugged Design Shell
Like Edgeware’s IP65 level outdoor UPS common design, the Edge Span U60EL UPS CCTV power supply’s casing also follows the rugged design, which greatly extends the equipment’s lifespan in outdoor operation and improves stability.
Rust-Proof
Because the whole system is IP65, it can achieve the effect of complete dust and water resistance. The dust and water resistance of the whole system is very important in the rural area. Just like the Edge Span U60EL introduced by Qianwen, it is designed for CCTV sites that need fast battery charging under unstable power grid conditions. Then these areas are likely to be in some remote places. If the traditional outdoor cabinet solution with IP55 ingress protection is used to deal with it, it will not take long for the IP55 cabinet to be filled with insects, dust and other impurities. When the humidity is high, these impurities can easily cause short circuits in the equipment inside the cabinet.
Lightning Protection
The environment where the Outdoor UPS CCTV power supply is located is subject to direct and inductive lightning strikes. The impact of lightning often damages many devices at the site. However, we know that many outdoor sites are located in remote areas, and the maintenance cost is very high. Therefore, Edgeware has always insisted on providing a complete lightning protection design for the entire system.

The system is equipped with a 1000W UPS, and the maximum charging current can be set to 8A. The 20AH battery equipped with this machine can be fully charged within 3 hours, fully meeting the requirements of fast charging under unstable power grid conditions.

Battery Fast Charge CCTV Site
Even if there are 8 cameras in a general scenario, the load will not exceed 200W. However, the Edge Span U60EL LSP-8 is configured differently from the general UPS for IP cameras. It is configured with a 1000W UPS which is much larger than required. This is used to deal with the frequent power outages in some underdeveloped areas, and the power restoration time is limited to only a few hours a day. Therefore, it is necessary to fully charge the battery as soon as possible during this period. In this way, even if the power grid is offline all day, the load can still work on the battery.
CCTV Site with Heavy Load Device
In some scenarios, the pole where the CCTV Site is located has other devices that require UPS CCTV power supply to provide backup power supply function. For example, a 4G/5G small cell is installed on the same pole. The operating power of this device is usually 400-600W. In this way, Edge Span U60EL LSP-8 can solve the problem of this site in one stop.
