What is all in one IP65 iot edge controller?
IoT edge controller plays a very important role as the aggregation and control node of Internet of things sensors in edge network. It needs to provide power for IoT sensors in the downstream and read information from IoT sensors. It controls IoT sensors or other IoT devices according to pre-configured logic, calculated logic, or the calculation results of cloud sever. The IoT edge controller uplink network has a variety of backhaul network forms, such as 4G/5G cellular network, fiber and other forms. In addition to the generally required functions, the all-in-one IP65 IoT edge controller also adds UPS power backup or solar system, battery and IP65 ingress protection level shell, making the entire more suitable for outdoor IoT solution deployment.

However, we know that many times the IoT scene is not indoors, but outdoors. There are special considerations for outdoor use. The IP20 protection level of the indoor IoT edge controller and the lightning protection design of each port are not very suitable for outdoor applications. The following scenarios:
The outdoor environment is relatively more complex. For example, the environment for outdoor gas detection is often flammable and explosive, so the overall design of the IoT edge controller must meet environmental requirements. For smart city-related scenarios such as outdoor weather stations, it is necessary to consider the long-term reliability of the entire system outdoors, its waterproof performance, and its adaptability to unstable power supplies. Sometimes when there may be no electricity, solar energy must be considered. In addition, lightning protection design, grounding design, and other details are essential. Therefore, traditional IoT edge controllers are not suitable for outdoor deployment. We believe that outdoor deployment requires an all-in-one IP65 IoT edge controller.

To address the complex outdoor power supply challenges, the IP65 IoT edge controller has a built-in UPS or solar controller. UPS helps the system maintain stable operation of the equipment when the power grid is offline, thereby filtering the impact of grid instability on the operation of the entire network. However, in many cases, there is no electricity in the outdoor IoT scene. At this time, the solar system can be used to power the entire system.
(2) Battery
The use of high-performance and high-energy-density lithium batteries makes the entire system as small and light as possible, which is conducive to IoT outdoor deployment. It also avoids various additional on-site installation and debugging work caused by power system wiring.
