CCTV camera, as the core part of video surveillance solution, often shoulders the important function of security. Common cases of power grid instability

Generally speaking, there are two main situations in which power grid is unstable:

The site has power supply, but it is unstable

When the site is outdoors, the voltage of the power grid is often not as stable as that of the in-building power grid. The voltage is prone to undervoltage or overvoltage. When this happens, if there is no good protection and power backup, the CCTV camera will be powered off. The following figure shows an example of an Edgeware outdoor CCTV camera site. The standard power grid voltage in this area is 120VAC. As shown in the figure on the right, its voltage drops to 95VAC for a moment, which constitutes an undervoltage event.
